Guskov Win(+110)

The first fight on the Main Card at UFC 323 will see Jan Blachowicz take on Bogdan Guskov. This will be a fight in the UFC Light Heavyweight division. Blachowicz enters this fight with an MMA record of 29-11-1 and 12-8-1 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.03 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 49%. Blachowicz is absorbing 3.03 strikes and has a striking defense of 52%. His grappling is also decent, averaging 1.03 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 48% and a takedown defense of 69%.

Guskov enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-3 and 4-1 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.17 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 55%. Guskov absorbs 3.30 strikes and has a striking defense of 45%. He has not shown any grappling ability in the UFC, but does average 1.1 submission attempts every 15 minutes. Guskov also has a takedown defense of 57%.

Blachowicz is the small favorite in this fight; however, Guskov looks to be the better betting option. Guskov has been in better form, having won four UFC fights in a row, while Blachowicz has lost 3 of his last 5 UFC fights, with one fight ending in a draw. Guskov also has the advantage in striking volume; therefore, backing Guskov to win will be our best bet.

Money Line Pick
Talbott Win(-278)

The second fight on the Main Card at UFC 323 will see Henry Cejudo take on Payton Talbott. This will be a fight in the UFC Bantamweight division. Cejudo enters this fight with an MMA record of 16-5 and 10-5 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.82 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 47%. Cejudo absorbs 3.46 strikes and has a striking defense of 59%. His grappling ability is also solid, averaging 1.84 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 31% and a takedown defense of 76%.

Talbott enters this fight with an MMA record of 10-1 and 5-1 in the UFC. He averages 6.05 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 54%. Talbott absorbs 3.26 strikes and has a striking defense of 46%. His grappling has been weak, averaging just 0.24 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 25% and a takedown defense of 76%.

Talbott is the strong favorite, but still looks to be the best betting option. He has been much more consistent recently, while Cejudo has lost his last 3 UFC fights in a row. Talbot also has the clear advantage in striking volume. Even though Cejudo has the advantage in grappling, Talbott’s takedown defense has been strong enough to limit this advantage. For that reason, backing Talbott to win will be our lean.

Money Line Pick
Taira Win(-130)

The third fight on the Main Card at UFC 323 will see Brandon Moreno take on Tatsuro Taira. This will be a fight in the UFC Flyweight division. Moreno enters this fight with an MMA record of 23-8-2 and 11-5-2 in the UFC. He averages 3.96 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 44%. Moreno absorbs 3.62 strikes and has a striking defense of 60%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.51 takedowns every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 44%, and he has a takedown defense of 64%.

Taira enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-1 and 7-1 in the UFC. He averages 2.87 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 60%. Taira absorbs 2.54 strikes and has a striking defense of 47%. His grappling has been elite, averaging 3.21 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.7 submission attempts during the same period. Taira has a takedown accuracy of 48% and his takedown defense is 45%.

Taira is the small favorite in this fight, but looks to be the best betting option. Moreno has been inconsistent in the UFC as of recently, having won just 2 of his last 4 fights. Taira, on the other hand, has won 3 of his last 4 UFC fights. Moreno does have the advantage in striking volume; however, Taira is a much better grappler and still has solid enough striking to be able to stand up and fight. Given the advantage in grappling and his better form, backing Taira to win will be our play.

Money Line Pick
Pantoja Win(-238)

The Co-Main Event at UFC 323 will see Alexandre Pantoja take on Joshua Van. This will be a fight in the UFC Flyweight division and will be for the UFC Flyweight title. Pantoja enters this fight with an MMA record of 30-5 and 14-3 in the UFC. He averages 4.36 strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50%. Pantoja absorbs 3.88 strikes and has a striking defense of 49%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 2.80 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.0 submission attempts during the same period. Pantoja has a takedown accuracy of 47% and a takedown defense of 69%.

Van enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-2 and 8-1 in the UFC. He averages 8.86 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 56%. Van absorbs 6.36 strikes and has a striking defense of 57%. His grappling is also decent, averaging 0.85 takedowns every 15 minutes. Van has a takedown accuracy of 63% and a takedown defense of 81%.

Pantoja is the heavy favorite, but still looks to be the best betting option. He has won 8 UFC fights in a row and has defended his UFC Flyweight title a total of four times. Further, Pantoja has the edge in grappling, so while his striking volume does not stack up to Van’s, he is still a strong enough striker to be able to stand up and fight. Van has had plenty of success in the UFC, but has not faced a fighter who is as balanced as Pantoja. For that reason, backing Pantoja to win will be our lean.

Method of Victory Pick
Dvalishvili Win by Decision(-250)

The Main Event at UFC 323 will see Merab Dvalishvili take on Petr Yan. This will be a fight in the UFC Bantamweight division and will be for the UFC Bantamweight title. Dvalishvili enters this fight with an MMA record of 21-4 and 14-2 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.33 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 42%. Dvalishvili is absorbing 2.55 strikes and has a striking defense of 56%. His grappling is elite as he averages 6.40 takedowns every 15 minutes. Dvalishvili also has a takedown accuracy of 37% and a takedown defense of 82%.

Yan enters this fight with an MMA record of 19-5 and 11-4 in the UFC. He is averaging 5.12 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 54%. Yan absorbs 4.14 strikes and has a striking defense of 58%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.58 takedowns every 15 minutes. His takedown accuracy is 48% and his takedown defense is 85%.

Dvalishvili is the overwhelming favorite; therefore, we will be looking to target his possible method of victory. He has won 6 of his last 7 UFC fights by decision, while Yan’s last three UFC losses were by decision. Further, Dvalishvili has the clear advantage in grappling; therefore, backing Dvalishvili to win by decision will be our lean.

UFC Picks Explained

There are many different types of UFC picks, with countless ways to bet on this weekend’s UFC action. As with most sports, the easiest and simplest form of UFC pick is the Moneyline. A UFC Moneyline pick is a pick on who you think will win the fight, the method is irrelevant, be it TKO/KO, submission, or on the judge’s scorecard, whoever has their arm raised is the Moneyline winner. Other popular UFC Picks include the Method Of Victory and an over/under on the number of rounds the fight will last. Aside from these, there are many other props available ranging from Strikes Landed, Number Of Takedowns, or Will The Fight Go The Distance. Here at Pickswise, our expert UFC handicappers are on hand to find the best UFC Picks for all of this week’s action. Check out our latest UFC Picks above.

UFC Pick Em

A UFC Pick Em can mean one of two things, either the sportsbooks have each fighter with the same odds, a bit like in the NFL, when the spread is 0, or it could mean a contest whereby you have to pick the winner of each fight, in effect the Moneyline winner. Our UFC picks and the insight and analysis in particular that we offer alongside them can be used in both of these circumstances. We offer our experts’ view on the fight including the outcome, including those Moneyline UFC pick-em spots, and also on all of the other top UFC action. With our in-depth previews and picks, you can also use these as the basis for your UFC Pick Em contest too. Whatever you need, Pickswise will have you covered with all things UFC, from the best picks to the latest UFC betting news. We help you to Bet better.

When Are Your UFC Picks Posted

Our UFC Picks are typically posted just after the weigh-ins which usually take place the day before the fight. Waiting until this point allows us to maximize the information we can obtain from the Fight Week clues. One of the UFC’s biggest strengths as an organization and a big proponent of its success is the access in which it gives the media surrounding an event. Both fighters will be made available to the media on fight week and as are the weigh-ins. In both of these instances, you can get both physical and verbal clues as to how the fighter’s camp, weight cut, and preparation have gone over the previous 6-8 weeks. Of course, a fighter isn’t going to give his or her game plan away in its entirety, but even slight clues in their answers, or seeing the shape they are in at the weigh-in can be performance indicators for the weekend. All of this is considered right up until the time we post our picks, as we want to ensure we have all of the available information to make the most informed and best free UFC picks out there.
