The first fight on the Main Card at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Marcus Buchecha take on Ryan Spann. This will be a fight in the UFC Heavyweight division. Buchecha enters this fight with an MMA record of 5-2-1 and 0-1-1 in the UFC. He is averaging 1.70 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 49%. Buchecha absorbs 2.17 strikes and has a striking defense of 51%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 2.00 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 16%.

Spann enters this fight with an MMA record of 23-11 and 10-7 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.19 significant strikes and has a striking accuracy of 39%. Spann absorbs 4.14 strikes and has a striking defense of 43%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.30 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.8 submission attempts during the same period. Spann has a takedown accuracy of 34% and a takedown defense of 52%.

Buchecha is the clear favorite; however, given his rough start to the UFC, a total rounds prop looks to be the best betting option. Spann has seen 3 of his last 5 UFC fights go over 1.5 total rounds, while Buchecha has seen both of his UFC fights do the same. Given this, backing over 1.5 total rounds will be our lean.

Fight Prop Pick
Fight to go the Distance - Yes(-150)

The second fight on the Main Card at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Montel Jackson take on Raoni Barcelos. This will be a fight in the UFC Bantamweight division. Jackson enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-3 and 10-3 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.09 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 52%. Jackson is absorbing 1.40 strikes and has a striking defense of 61%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 3.00 takedowns every 15 minutes. Jackson has a takedown accuracy of 63% and a takedown defense of 67%.

Barcelos enters this fight with an MMA record of 21-5 and 10-4 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.92 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 51%. Barcelos absorbs 4.40 strikes and has a striking defense of 61%. His grappling has been solid as well, averaging 2.22 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 31% and a takedown defense of 87%.

Jackson is the heavy favorite; however, backing this fight to go the distance looks to be the best betting option. Barcelos has seen 8 of his last 10 UFC fights go the distance, while Jackson has seen 7 of his last 10 UFC fights do the same. Because of this, backing this fight to go the distance will be our lean.

Money Line Pick
Martinetti Win(+114)

The third fight on the Main Card at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Davey Grant take on Adrian Luna Martinetti. This will be a fight in the UFC Bantamweight division. Grant enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-8 and 8-7 in the UFC. He is averaging 5.14 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 44%. Grant absorbs 3.82 strikes and has a striking defense of 55%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 1.03 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 40% and a takedown defense of 63%.

Martinetti enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-1 and 1-0 in the UFC. He is averaging 11.00 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 65%. Martinetti absorbs 7.80 strikes and has a striking defense of 48%. His grappling ability has also been solid, averaging 3.00 takedowns every 15 minutes. Martinetti has a takedown accuracy of 42% and a takedown defense of 100%.

Grant is the small favorite in this fight; however, Martinetti looks to be a solid option to pull the upset. Martinetti has only had one UFC fight, but dominated his opponent. Grant, on the other hand, has been inconsistent recently, going 4-4 in his last 8 UFC fights. Further, Martinetti has a significant edge in striking volume and has the better grappling. For that reason, backing Martinetti to win will be our best bet.

Money Line Pick
Garcia Win(+110)

The fourth fight on the Main Card at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Rafa Garcia take on Alexander Hernandez. This will be a fight in the UFC Lightweight division. Garcia enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-4 and 6-4 in the UFC. He averages 4.31 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 45%. Garcia absorbs 4.54 strikes and has a striking defense of 61%. His grappling is also elite, averaging 3.13 takedowns every 15 minutes. Garcia has a takedown accuracy of 44% and a takedown defense of 76%.

Hernandez enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-8 and 10-7 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.31 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 40%. Hernandez is absorbing 4.50 strikes and has a striking defense of 59%. His grappling is also decent, averaging 1.14 takedowns every 15 minutes. Hernandez has a takedown accuracy of 36% and a takedown defense of 73%.

Hernandez is the small favorite; however, Garcia looks to be the best betting option. Garcia is 6-2 over his last 8 UFC fights and 4-1 over his last 5 UFC fights. Hernandez, on the other hand, is 5-4 over his last 9 UFC fights. Both of these fighters have the same striking volume, but Garcia has the superior grappling advantage. For that reason, backing Garcia to win will be our best bet.

Method of Victory Pick
Dumont Win by Decision(-160)

The Co-Main Event at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Norma Dumont take on Joselyne Edwards. This will be a fight in the Women’s Bantamweight division. Dumont enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2 and 9-2 in the UFC. She is averaging 3.89 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50%. Dumont is absorbing 2.12 strikes and has a striking defense of 65%. Her grappling is also solid, averaging 1.56 takedowns every 15 minutes. Dumont has a takedown accuracy of 56% and a takedown defense of 68%.

Edwards enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-6 and 8-4 in the UFC. She is averaging 4.61 significant strikes and has a striking accuracy of 53%. Edwards absorbs 3.24 strikes and has a striking defense of 50%. Her grappling is also solid, averaging 1.43 takedowns every 15 minutes. She has a takedown accuracy of 40% and a takedown defense of 61%.

Dumont is the clear favorite in this fight; however, backing her method of victory looks to be the best betting option. Dumont has won 9 times in the UFC by decision, while Edwards has lost 4 times by this method. Further, has the edge in grappling and absorbs far less damage compared to Edwards. Because of this, backing Dumont to win by decision is our lean.

Money Line Pick
Sterling Win(+110)

The Main Event at UFC Fight Night 274 will see Aljamain Sterling take on Youssef Zalal. This will be a fight in the UFC Featherweight division. Sterling enters this fight with an MMA record of 25-5 and 17-5 in the UFC. He is averaging 4.45 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 52%. Sterling absorbs 2.21 strikes and has a striking defense of 59%. His grappling is also strong, averaging 2.45 takedowns every 15 minutes. Sterling has a takedown accuracy of 30% and a takedown defense of 44%.

Zalal enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-5-1 and 8-3-1 in the UFC. He is averaging 3.03 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 50%. Zalal is absorbing 1.78 strikes and has a striking defense of 66%. His grappling is also solid, averaging 2.17 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.4 submission attempts during the same period. He has a takedown accuracy of 31% and a takedown defense of 59%.

While Zalal is the small favorite in this fight, Sterling looks to be the best betting option. Sterling has gone 11-2 over his last 13 UFC fights, only losing to Sean O’Malley and Movsar Evloev during this stretch. Zalal, on the other hand, has been equally impressive, going 5-0 in his last 5 UFC fights. That being said, Sterling has the edge in both striking volume and grappling. He has also faced tough opponents overall and has held a title in his career. Because Sterling looks to have been more tested, backing Sterling to win is our best bet.

UFC Picks Explained

There are many different types of UFC picks, with countless ways to bet on this weekend’s UFC action. As with most sports, the easiest and simplest form of UFC pick is the Moneyline. A UFC Moneyline pick is a pick on who you think will win the fight, the method is irrelevant, be it TKO/KO, submission, or on the judge’s scorecard, whoever has their arm raised is the Moneyline winner. Other popular UFC Picks include the Method Of Victory and an over/under on the number of rounds the fight will last. Aside from these, there are many other props available ranging from Strikes Landed, Number Of Takedowns, or Will The Fight Go The Distance. Here at Pickswise, our expert UFC handicappers are on hand to find the best UFC Picks for all of this week’s action. Check out our latest UFC Picks above.

UFC Pick Em

A UFC Pick Em can mean one of two things, either the sportsbooks have each fighter with the same odds, a bit like in the NFL, when the spread is 0, or it could mean a contest whereby you have to pick the winner of each fight, in effect the Moneyline winner. Our UFC picks and the insight and analysis in particular that we offer alongside them can be used in both of these circumstances. We offer our experts’ view on the fight including the outcome, including those Moneyline UFC pick-em spots, and also on all of the other top UFC action. With our in-depth previews and picks, you can also use these as the basis for your UFC Pick Em contest too. Whatever you need, Pickswise will have you covered with all things UFC, from the best picks to the latest UFC betting news. We help you to Bet better.

UFC DFS Picks

When Are Your UFC Picks Posted

Our UFC Picks are typically posted just after the weigh-ins which usually take place the day before the fight. Waiting until this point allows us to maximize the information we can obtain from the Fight Week clues. One of the UFC’s biggest strengths as an organization and a big proponent of its success is the access in which it gives the media surrounding an event. Both fighters will be made available to the media on fight week and as are the weigh-ins. In both of these instances, you can get both physical and verbal clues as to how the fighter’s camp, weight cut, and preparation have gone over the previous 6-8 weeks. Of course, a fighter isn’t going to give his or her game plan away in its entirety, but even slight clues in their answers, or seeing the shape they are in at the weigh-in can be performance indicators for the weekend. All of this is considered right up until the time we post our picks, as we want to ensure we have all of the available information to make the most informed and best free UFC picks out there.
