Here we go! The weekend is about here, which means college football Week 9 is right around the corner. This will be a special one, as Saturday’s slate coincides with Halloween. Some of you will inevitably be simultaneously watching football and sweating bets while trick-or-treating with your kids or passing out candy in the neighborhood, while others may hit a costume party or just stay home and enjoy a full day of football. Whatever the occasion, I wish you a safe night and hope to add some extra cash in your pocket before we do it all against Sunday in the NFL.

As is our weekly tradition here at Pickswise, it’s time to get into my favorite college football player props in Week 9. Let’s build on this 5-1 run over the last two weeks, shall we?

CFB Week 9 Player Prop: Gunner Stockon (UGA) over 18.5 completions (-105)

Odds available at bet365 at the time of publishing. Playable to 19.5 (+110).

Georgia is off a bye and should be ready to avenge their home loss to Auburn prior to their break. However, despite the week off, the running back room remains thin. Chauncey Bowens will not play just yet, while RB Nate Frazier may still be limited due to a previous rib injury. Those limitations will put a ton of the workload on the arm of Gunner Stockton.

Against a Florida defense that ranks 125th in PPA per pass and 120th in pass success outside of garbage time since Week 3, Stockton has a very good matchup to exploit in Atlanta. Being the veteran that he is, Stockon leads the SEC in completion percentage, which makes sense given his below average ADOT. Not that a below-average ADOT is a bad thing, but it certainly was a deciding factor when picking between yards and completions for the sake of this article. If Stockton was more of a downfield passer, we’d be on over 237.5 passing yards. He’s certainly capable of that, but it’s not asked of him very often. OC Mike Bobo likes to get him high-percentage looks, and with a hampered running back room, I’d imagine short passes become an extension of the running game for Georgia this weekend. He’s had 88 pass attempts in the last three games combined, so the opportunities have been there.

CFB Week 9 Player Prop: Quintrevion Wisner (FSU) over 67.5 rush yards (-112)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Playable to 77.5 (-110).

Florida State and Tre Wisner agreed to a $650,000 NIL deal in the offseason, leading to his transfer from Texas to Tallahassee. Through the first few weeks of the season, the addition seemed like a waste of money for Florida State, but now it seems to have paid dividends. After Ousmane Kromah’s injury against Miami, the Seminoles are down their top two backs – the other being Sam Singleton Jr., who has been sidelined since the Alabama game. It’s Wisner’s time to shine, and it comes at a good point in the season. He’s had extra time to prepare for his increased workload being that Florida State is off a bye.

Clemson’s run defense is flawed. They’re outside the top 50 in rush yards allowed per game this year, while they’re 70th in PPA per rush and 113th in rush success allowed outside of garbage time since Week 3. Moreover, PFF has them as one of the 25 worst tackling defenses in the country.

Since Singleton’s injury, Wisner has carried the ball at least seven times in four games. In three of those contests, he averaged more than five yards per attempt and forced five missed tackles. He’s a very capable running back, having spent time in the lead role in Austin – where he had a 1,000-yard year in 2024 and averaged 4.7 yards per attempt (PFF) – and he should get plenty of opportunities against a Clemson defense that surrendered 192 rush yards on 5.5 yards per attempt against Miami, 214 yards on 5.5 yards per attempt against North Carolina and 309 yards on 5.3 yards per attempt against LSU. Being a home favorite only helps his cause from a game script perspective.

CFB Week 9 Player Prop: Jesse Legree (ORST) longest reception over 36.5 yards (-112)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing. Playable to 39.5 (-110).

The Beavers have been one of the most dynamic and explosive offenses in the country, leading the nation in passing yards (2,694 total, 384.9 per game). Freshman WR Jesse Legree is the primary beneficiary of that, as he is the only player that has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards already and the only one ahead of Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith (984 yards).

This number is crazy low for what Legree and the Oregon State offense have put on tape this year. In fact, he has hauled in at least a 46-yard reception in every game, while he’s had a reception of at least 70 yards in four of his seven contests. Meanwhile, Fresno State, though solid against the pass from an efficiency standpoint, has surrendered at least one 36-yard reception in every game sans Washington State, and they’ve allowed five passes of at least 40 yards.

This number feels too good to be true, and that’s always a scary place to be when it comes to sports betting, but I just cannot pass on anything below 40 yards after what we’ve seen from Legree and this offense thus far.
