Week 0 is here, and the action begins with a noon ET kickoff between the North Carolina Tar Heels and TCU Horned Frogs, though this game will be played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Both teams have faced plenty of adversity throughout the offseason and can officially put those shortcomings in the past with a great start to the season in 2026.

With the market being all over TCU, can the Horned Frogs live up to the expectations of bettors? Or does Wild Bill have something up his sleeve? We will soon find out. Until then, let’s pacify our excitement for the beginning of the college football season with a +418 UNC vs TCU Same Game Parlay, with odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

UNC vs TCU parlay pick: North Carolina Tar Heels +10.5 over TCU Horned Frogs (-136)

TCU has gotten a lot of love in the market, and for good reason. UNC was a dumpster fire under Bill Belichick last year, and the Frogs absolutely destroyed the Heels in Chapel Hill, 48-14, for all to see on national television in the opening week of the season. Things haven’t been much better of late for the UNC organization, either. Their general manager was put on paid administrative leave for an HR complaint, and their defensive coordinator is out due to health reasons. So, why are we including the Heels in this parlay? Well, simply, this version of TCU feels overvalued. This spread has moved so much that grabbing double-digits with UNC becomes affordable without diminishing the odds of the parlay too much. In a game with a low total, that point becomes that much more valuable, especially if the backdoor comes into play.

Having played in a national championship recently, TCU is obviously the better football program, but how much does this apply to this particular matchup? The fact of the matter is that TCU ranks 100th in returning production on the offensive side of the ball. The Frogs will have to replace the starting quarterback as well as their offensive coordinator, 1,000-yard receiver and multiple offensive linemen. Not to mention, their transfer quarterback doesn’t have any FBS experience. Say what you want about Billy Edwards Jr., at least he’s played meaningful snaps at the power-conference level. He’s capable of picking apart a secondary that lost its best piece in Bud Clark and will start multiple true sophomores and other unproven pieces in the secondary.

UNC vs TCU parlay pick: Jordan Shipp (UNC) 60+ Receiving Yards (+108)

Jordan Shipp is the alpha in this receiving room, which was obvious even last year on a bad offense. With Bobby Petrino running the offense this year, I’m expecting Shipp to have a lot more opportunity to impact games, and that’s after he already demanded at least eight targets in five of UNC’s last seven games in 2025. The junior from Charlotte surpassed this number against a better TCU secondary last year, as well as in five of his last six games – when UNC started to look somewhat capable down the stretch.

Weather is expected to impact this game, which makes betting a receiving prop a bit daunting, but I’d argue that’s already baked into the number. Plus, wet conditions make it that much harder for defenders to properly plant and grip ball carriers in order to bring them to the ground. All it takes is one missed tackle for Shipp to be off to the races. He’s already demonstrated big-play ability, as he caught at least one 20-yard pass in all but two games last year, and I’m looking for him to show us that same ability this year against a more inexperienced secondary that lost its best piece to the NFL.

UNC vs TCU Same Game Parlay pick: Jeremy Payne (TCU) Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-195)

I have questions about this TCU offense. The Frogs will start a quarterback in Jaden Craig with no FBS experience, while they have a completely new coordinator, multiple new offensive linemen, and two of their top three pass-catchers to replace. However, one of the few constants is Jeremy Payne, a running back that is likely to become his new starting quarterback’s best friend. Payne put up 830 scrimmage yards and seven total touchdowns last year, but with Kevorian Barnes and Trent Battle no longer in the picture, Payne’s usage should skyrocket. Even with his limited workload, he finished fifth in the Big 12 in yards after contact per attempt according to PFF, as well as eighth in yards per attempt.

Craig may have plenty of collegiate experience, but without much experience against power-conference defenses, look for TCU to rely on the run game in the red zone, and for Payne to capitalize on that strategy.
