Purdue Boilermakers vs Wisconsin Badgers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 10/05/24

The Boilermakers of Purdue head to Madtown to take on the Badgers of Wisconsin in a Big Ten conference game. Purdue has struggled to find consistency on offense, and it is 0-3 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in the past three outings, with losses to Notre Dame, Oregon State and Nebraska. The defense has also had a difficult time, allowing 28 or more points in each of the three setbacks, including a 66 points allowed against Notre Dame. The Boilermakers have allowed 242.0 rushing yards per game, and that’s bad news when going to face the Badgers.

Wisconsin put up a good fight at USC last weekend, leading for a while, before eventually falling to the Trojans 38-21 at the Coliseum as a 13.5-point underdog. The Badgers are 0-4 ATS, and the Boilermakers are 0-3 ATS in the past three contests, so we’ll focus on the total instead. The Over has cashed in the past two games for Wisconsin, allowing 40.0 PPG to Alabama and USC. However, Purdue doesn’t have nearly the same kind of offense to come close to those totals. And, Wisconsin has scored 28 or fewer points in four games. We’ll go low on the total, but go with a half-unit play at most.
