MLB Picks Today: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Sunday, June 14, inc. Reds vs Diamondbacks
The NBA Finals ended last night, which will bring some extra eyeballs to Major League Baseball. It’s fantastic timing, as Sunday provides a loaded and entertaining slate of action. Let's dive in and discuss my 3 favorite betting angles as we conclude the weekend, while you can find our MLB predictions for EVERY game today and throughout the regular season.
MLB Best Bet: Cincinnati Reds vs Arizona Diamondbacks over 9.5 (-115)
Odds available at DraftKings sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -120.
We have a high total in Sunday’s matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds, but I don’t believe it is high enough. I still favor the over, as I am not a fan of either starting pitcher’s current form. Zac Gallen is set to start for Arizona, marking his 15th start of the season. Like most of his career, Gallen has been far better when pitching in his home park. On the road this season, the right-hander has posted a 7.44 ERA, while opponents are hitting .345 against him. Now he pitches in Great American Ballpark, one of baseball’s premier hitting venues. Gallen has struggled with limiting hard contact and avoiding barrels this season, and he is also failing to generate many whiffs. With 32 earned runs allowed in his last 8 starts, I am not looking to back Gallen anytime soon.
Andrew Abbott was a common talking point among fantasy baseball analysts over the offseason given his average draft position. Abbott is a pitcher who has drastically outperformed his underlying metrics to start his career, but that has not really been the case in 2026. Abbott is having his first stretch of struggles this season, entering play with a 4.10 ERA and 4.72 xERA. His strikeout rate has plummeted this year, while his walk rate has seen a noticeable spike. Abbott’s batted-ball metrics are league average or worse, and he draws a tough matchup against an Arizona lineup that mashes southpaw pitching. Across the last 30 days, the Diamondbacks rank 3rd in wOBA against lefties while posting a 132 wRC+. I don’t trust either bullpen and look for runs from both sides in this game.

MLB Best Bet: Milwaukee Brewers vs Philadelphia Phillies F5 under 3.5 (-120)
Odds available at FanDuel sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -130.
Cristopher Sanchez is in the midst of his best season. His 39 scoreless frames in May earned him pitcher of the month, and his good form has continued into June with 14 innings of 3-run ball against the Padres and Blue Jays. Neither of those teams has hit left-handed pitching well of late, but Sanchez has shown he is more than capable of shutting down any lineup he faces. Sanchez has 113 strikeouts to just 18 walks and 4 home runs allowed across his first 93.1 innings pitched. Those 93.1 innings are the 2nd-most in MLB this season behind Sandy Alcantara, who has made an extra start. Sanchez generates ground balls with the best of them, and he should continue his strong form against a quality Brewers lineup.
Kyle Harrison has also been one of MLB’s best southpaw hurlers this season, posting a 2.72 ERA through his first 59.2 innings of work. Harrison is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing 8 earned runs to the Athletics across just 2.1 innings. That game was essentially played on the moon, however, as hitting conditions were ideal. Any starter would have struggled in that setting and that series, but I look for Harrison to bounce back Sunday. His ERA prior to that last start was 1.57, and he has otherwise been dominant in 2026. I look to avoid the bullpens in this game and purely target these starters through the first 5 innings.

MLB Best Bet: Patrick Corbin (TOR) over 4.5 hits allowed (-154)
Odds available at Caesars sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to -170.
Patrick Corbin has been the gift that keeps on giving as a prop bettor for the last 5 years. The left-handed starting pitcher was the worst starter in the sport for a stretch with Washington before moving on to other clubs. Even when he pitches, well it seems to be by the power of fairy dust and good fortune. In 2026, the veteran arm has posted 57.1 innings of work through his first 12 starts. His 4.55 ERA has a 5.64 xERA shadowing it, suggesting he has pitched over his head a bit.
Corbin is not expected to work overly deep into Sunday's start, as bookmakers have his out-recorded prop at 14.5. I still believe there is solid value in attacking his hits allowed market when he takes on the New York Yankees. New York remains without Aaron Judge, but they still sit 5th in wOBA with a 126 wRC+ against southpaw pitching across the last 30 days. That is problematic news for Corbin, who has allowed a .293 average and .891 OPS to active Yankees across 157 combined plate appearances. Moreover, Corbin is striking out just 15.9% of batters he faces, and he is also allowing a 43.9% hard-hit rate. Those numbers combined with a relatively low walk rate should result in a ton of quality contact put into play. I look for the Yankees to register 5 or more hits off Corbin with some runs crossing the plate as well.
