MLB Picks Today: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Tuesday, June 9, inc. Braves vs White Sox
The week in Major League Baseball continues with a full 15-game slate on Tuesday, headlined by Yankees vs Guardians, Phillies vs Blue Jays and Braves vs White Sox. Three games stand out to me the most, so let’s dive into my MLB best bets for Tuesday. If you’re looking for more picks, don’t forget about our MLB predictions for analysis on EVERY game throughout the 2026 season.
MLB best bet: New York Yankees vs Cleveland Guardians Under 8.5 (-105)
Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and available at time of publishing. Playable to -115.
The Yankees lead the American League in total runs scored this season (331), but don’t forget that Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Austin Wells and Jasson Dominguez are all on the injured list. This is not a fully loaded New York squad that we are talking about.
The Yanks just faced Cleveland’s Slade Cecconi this past Thursday, and it did not go well for the NY lineup, which mustered just 4 hits and 1 run in 6.0 innings against Cecconi. Nonetheless, the Guardians also did nothing at the plate and the Yankees prevailed 2-1. Gerrit Cole is toeing the rubber for New York on Tuesday and early returns in 2026 are encouraging. Through 3 appearances, Cole boasts a 2.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. All things considered, a relatively low-scoring affair could be in the cards.
MLB best bet: Atlanta Braves ML over Chicago White Sox (-154)
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook and available at time of publishing. Playable to -165.
The Braves are the best team in baseball at 45-21, and they are coming off a 3-game sweep of the Pirates – giving them an 8-2 record over the past 10 outings. For what it’s worth, their 23-10 road record is also the best in the majors. Meanwhile, the White Sox (34-31) are a much-improved ballclub, but they have cooled off a bit with a 2-4 record in their last 6. Pitching has been the problem, as Chicago has allowed 9, 8, 6 and 9 runs in its 4 recent losses.
Woes on the mound could continue on Tuesday. Erick Fedde is getting the nod for the home side; he is just 1-5 with a 4.94 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP and a dreadful 36-to-24 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 58.1 innings. Atlanta’s lineup has enjoyed plenty of success in this particular matchup. Ronald Acuna Jr. is 6-for-19 (.316) lifetime against Fedde with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and twice as many walks (4) as strikeouts (2), Austin Riley is 8-for-22 (.364) with a homer and 2 doubles, and Michael Harris is 6-for-9 (.667) with a double and 5 RBIs. Needless to say, Grant Holmes should get more than enough run support.
MLB best bet: Cincinnati Reds ML over San Diego Padres (-120)
Odds courtesy of BetMGM and available at the time of publishing. Playable to -125.
The Padres are simply playing bad baseball. They are 3-11 in their last 14 contests, all but ending their hopes of staying within striking distance of the Dodgers in the National League West. On top of that, they have been mediocre at home at just 18-18, compared to 16-13 on the road. Even more importantly, Tuesday’s pitching matchup favors the visitors. San Diego’s Lucas Giolito (4.86 ERA) is simply overmatched by Cincinnati’s Chase Burns (2.05 ERA). Burns, 23, is 7-1, and his team has won 4 of his last 5 starts. He is also sporting a dominant 81-to-21 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 70.1 innings of work. Burns is without question one of the brightest young stars in the bigs. Look for the Reds to ride their ace to a win.
