Thursday’s matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers is not my favorite game from a betting perspective. That being said, I do lean towards the Over on the posted game total. Jose Quintana is set to start for the Brewers, and the veteran southpaw enters this game having allowed no more than 3 earned runs in any outing this month. While his 3.32 ERA through 111 innings has been a pleasant surprise for the team, Quintana is due for massive regression with a 5.02 xERA. He ranks just the 4th percentile in whiff rate, while sporting a below-average walk rate and iffy batted ball metrics. Arizona is capable of contributing towards the total in this spot.

Arizona is set to start Nabil Crismatt for just his 3rd appearance of the season. The 30-year-old has not been an MLB mainstay since 2022 with the Padres as a reliever, and my expectations for his start against this Brewers lineup are not high. Milwaukee is a frustrating lineup to dissect with their combination of patience, power, and speed contributing to long and tense innings. I expect runs from both sides in this matchup.
