Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/14/25

Kodai Senga has produced ace-caliber numbers in his 94 innings of work this season with a 2.30 ERA as a result, but he does not work overly deep into games and has not passed 5 innings of work in any of his last 5 starts. Senga is not working deep into games, but I still favor the Mets to win this matchup against the Atlanta Braves by multiple runs on Thursday. The Mets made several deadline acquisitions to bolster their bullpen and that unit will be used in the second half of this game to close things out. While Senga may not be in his best form currently, he is still clearly my preferred starter in this matchup.

Bryce Elder is set to start for the Braves, and I have no reason to want to back the right-hander at this time. Elder has struggled again in 2025, posting a 6.12 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across his 100 innings of work. His last outing resulted in 5 earned runs allowed to the Marlins and now he faces another tough NL East lineup. Elder has not faced New York yet this season but active Met batters have a .921 OPS against him in a sample of 52 combined plate appearances. Look for the Mets to provide Senga with enough run support to win by margin.
