Braves vs Nationals Pickswise Expert Predictions
Chris Sale vs MacKenzie Gore is an interesting pitching matchup scheduled for Game 2 of Tuesday’s doubleheader between the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals. Game 1 is obviously not completed at the time of publishing this article, and I would hold off on any bets until Game 1 of the DH is finalized before placing any sizable Game 2 wagers. Doubleheaders can be tricky with lineup changes and management tendencies, but I do lean towards the under on the posted game total. Sale Missed July and most of August but has looked sharp upon his return. With 17.2 innings and 5 earned runs allowed to 27 strikeouts recorded, Sale enters this matchup with Washington in good form.
Gore also missed some time, albeit a shorter absence from the rotation, and in his return to the mound the southpaw tossed 5 innings of 2-run ball against the Marlins. In 2025 there has been some volatility in Gore’s performance, looking unhittable at times and at other times he can’t seem to locate his pitches. While he certainly has the capability of going either way Tuesday, I do lean towards a strong effort from the Nationals’ ace.
Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves prediction: Under 7 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that price.
