Baltimore Orioles vs Atlanta Braves Prediction, Odds and Picks for Friday, 07/04/25

I favor the under on the posted game total in today’s matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves. Atlanta has been struggling to hit right-handed pitching within the last 30 days, ranking just 26th in wOBA with the fourth-highest strikeout rate in that sample. Charlie Morton was atrocious to begin the season for the Orioles rotation before he was sent to the bullpen to work on things. His performance in the bullpen was far better and that has continued upon returning to the rotation. While not perfect, I expect a solid outing from the veteran right-hander against one of his former clubs.

Speaking of rounding into form, Spencer Strider has looked far more like his former self in recent outings. His last 4 starts have combined for 24 innings with 33 strikeouts and 6 earned runs allowed. The Orioles are better offensively when facing right-handed pitching, but I am not necessarily a fan of their matchup with Strider who appears to be on the mend. He may allow a home run or have a rough inning, but I expect a strong start from Strider today.
