Eflin posted a 5.64 ERA in 4 starts during May as well after allowing 7 home runs in a 2-start span against the Nationals and Red Sox. I don’t fully trust Eflin this season and a matchup in New York against the Yankees lineup is a spot he could struggle in. New York is not in their best form offensively, to be fair, but I do like how they match up against Eflin who should live in the zone early and often.

Clarke Schmidt enters this matchup in far better form than Eflin, having tossed 13.2 scoreless innings in his last 2 starts against the Angels and Royals. Schmidt has allowed 3 or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 11 starts this season while posting an overall ERA of 3.16 in 62.2 innings pitched. Baltimore is better offensively against right-handed pitching, but I favor New York to win this matchup on Saturday.
