We have a massive game on deck for Thursday between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. These teams hold the top two wild card spots in the American League with New York holding a 1.5 game lead on the Red Sox for the top wild card spot. Seattle is right there with them and the Royals, Guardians, and even Rangers are capable of making one final push towards the postseason. I am fired up for Thursday’s game between the Red Sox and Yankees both from an entertainment perspective, and from a betting viewpoint.

Luis Gil is set to start for the Yankees in Thursday’s matchup. The right-hander won rookie of the year in the AL last season, but injury prevented him from contributing much in 2025. He will make his 4th start of the season in this matchup but Gil has allowed 23 base runners and 8 earned runs in under 15 innings of work so far this year. Boston should be able to produce early on in this matchup. Lucas Giolito is set to start for Boston, marking his 20th appearance in a Boston uniform. Giolito has been effective for the Red Sox with a 3.63 ERA in 106.1 innings of work. This includes 6.1 innings of 1-run ball against the Marlins in his last start. I look for the Red Sox to grab a win at an underdog price Thursday.
