Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/10/25

Two of the better rosters in the National League are facing off Saturday when the New York Mets host the Chicago Cubs. I favor New York in this particular matchup as they hold a sizable edge in the starting pitching matchup. Brad Keller is set to make a spot start for the Cubs with injuries to their rotation, and Keller is not a pitcher I am overly fond of. He is likely just opening the game for the Cubs, but their bullpen has not been overly impressive so far this season, posting the 10th worst ERA. New York has been playing better offensive ball of late and should be able to put together a strong performance in this spot.

Tylor Megill has been the best pitcher for the Mets so far this season, posting a 2.50 ERA and 2.83 FIP through his first 36 innings pitched. Command of the strike zone has been Megill’s largest concern this season but his ability to generate strikeouts at a 29.2% clip has helped erase some of those command woes. He also sports some solid batted ball metrics, and I think he is clearly the stronger pitching option today. Chicago has a lethal offense of their own, but I still favor the Mets at home today.
