I expect the Cleveland Guardians to roll over the Chicago White Sox when they face off Saturday. Davis Martin is set to start this game for Chicago, marking his 24th appearance of the season for the White Sox. Martin has posted a respectable 4.03 ERA across his 127.1 innings of work, but he is still not my preferred starter in this game, and he is tasked with the tougher lineup to face. Martin faced Cleveland on 8/10 and allowed 3 earned runs in his 5 innings of work. Now just a month later, I look for the Guardians to produce offensively once again.

Parker Messick is set to start this game for the Guardians, marking his 5th career MLB start. Messick is a 24-year-old left-hander that hit the ground running, tossing 13.2 innings of 1-run ball against Arizona and Tampa Bay for his first 2 starts. His 3rd outing was a tougher result, allowing 11 base runners in 3.2 innings of work, but somehow limiting the damage to 3 earned runs. He rebounded nicely in his most recent outing, tossing 6 innings of 1-run ball against that same Rays lineup he already faced. Against a weak White Sox unit, I expect a strong outing.
