Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/11/26

The Kansas City Royals are a better roster on paper than the Chicago White Sox, and their expectations for the 2026 season are higher as a result. That being said, I cannot justify the price on Kansas City Saturday with Michael Wacha and Erick Fedde as the scheduled starters. Kansas City is listed as a -190 ML favorite with Wacha on the bump set to make his 3rd start of the season. His first 2 starts have been terrific with 13 innings of 1-run ball against the Braves and Guardians. Wacha has been very fortunate to strand every base runner so far and opponents have a .167 BABIP despite worse batted ball metrics than previous seasons. His 4.03 xERA is more indicative of where his numbers are likely to end up this season.

Fedde, on the other end, has a 4.09 ERA entering Saturday, allowing 5 earned runs and an additional unearned run through his first 11 innings against the Marlins and Orioles. 2025 was a grind for the right-hander as he regressed to early-career numbers, but 2024 was a very successful season for the veteran arm. Fedde posted 31 starts with a 3.30 ERA that year and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him around a mid to low 4’s this year. I prefer Wacha to Fedde, but OOPSY has their season long ERA projection separated by just 0.19 in favor of Wacha. Kansas City has the better lineup, but Chicago has the power atop their order to take advantage of Wacha. At current pricing I side with the White Sox on the run-line, as we can win our bet even if they lose by a run.
