He has a 3-5 record, but he has managed a 3.38 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 74 2/3 IP. RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto opened the season on fire, leading the majors in ERA at one point. However, he has been in freefall, posting a pedestrian 3.26 ERA with 29 hits and 15 walks allowed across the past 38 2/3 IP in his last seven starts while posting a 2-3 record. The White Sox might not win, but this could be closer than most think because of Smith.
