Cincinnati Reds vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/27/25
Reds vs Brewers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to clinch the best record in the National League and the number one seed today as they host their divisional rival Cincinnati Reds. Those Reds are currently tied with the New York Mets for the final wild card spot and desperately need a win today. There are a few candidates for the game I’d most like to watch today, and this one is right up there for me. Milwaukee is scheduled to start Robert Gasser for just his 2nd appearance of the season at the Major League level. Gasser has 38 minor league innings under his belt this season across 13 appearances as he worked his way back, and the results were strong. His first MLB start was a 3-inning outing 6 days ago against the Cardinals. Milwaukee used Erick Fedde behind him for multiple innings and given recent usage I can expect the same in this game.
There is no denying the season that the Brewers have had, and they deserve the position they hold atop the National League entering Saturday. That being said I expect the Reds to win this game. Andrew Abbott is scheduled to start for the Reds, and the southpaw hurler has put together a terrific junior season for Cincinnati. Abbott has tossed a career-high 161 innings while maintaining a career-best 2.80 ERA. His 43 walks issued are less than his 52 walks allowed in 138 innings last season. That improved command has helped him take the next step and I am expecting a spirited effort from him in this spot.
