Cleveland Guardians vs Seattle Mariners Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 06/15/25

Luis Ortiz is a starting pitcher that comes with some variance, but the increase in his strikeout production has been a pleasant surprise to see. The Guardians were high on his talents, acquiring him in the offseason for Spencer Horwitz, and Ortiz has delivered some very solid outings for his new club so far. While his inconsistent command and tendency to allow barrels makes him hard to fully trust, Ortiz is the preferred starting option for this game. He should find some success in the strikeout department against a Mariners offense that is prone to the whiff.

Emerson Hancock is not someone I am as high on, and his FIP sits over a full run higher than Ortiz’s. The Mariners’ right-hander has tossed 55.1 innings so far this season with just 41 Ks to 20 walks and home runs, and his pitch to contact nature doesn’t work well with a fourth-percentile xBA. Cleveland is not my favorite offensive grouping of players, but it should find success against Hancock this afternoon.
