Guardians vs Blue Jays Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays play the middle contest of a three-game series at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays posted a 5-3 victory against LHP Logan Allen and the Guards on Saturday, cashing as moderate favorites (-170). That snapped a three-game win streak in the series by Cleveland. The home team has now won six in a row in this series, and with Cleveland RHP Gavin Williams squaring off against Toronto RHP Kevin Gausman, we’re expecting that streak to continue in this second game.
Williams is 0-1 with a 5.52 ERA across 14 2/3 IP, with three homers allowed, eight walks and 11 strikeouts in three road outings. And, while Gausman’s overall numbers of 2-3 and 4.50 ERA in six starts do not look great, he is 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA at home, allowing just a single walk with 10 strikeouts across 12 IP in two starts at Rogers Centre, and teams are hitting just .203 against him. The so-so offense of the Guardians should struggle to gain much traction against the veteran right-hander. Look for Toronto to clinch the series win with a victory Saturday.
Guardians vs Blue Jays prediction: Blue Jays ML (-135) at time of publishing. Playable to -150.
