Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/09/25

While Emmet Sheehan is not my favorite starting option in the Los Angeles Dodgers rotation, I still favor the Dodgers to win Tuesday’s matchup against the Colorado Rockies by multiple runs. The Dodgers enter this matchup 16 games over .500 while the Rockies enter play with a 40-104 record. Colorado is one of the worst teams we have seen take an MLB field in quite some time, and I am looking to take advantage of our remaining chances to fade this baseball team. German Marquez is set to start for the Rockies, and the veteran right-hander enters play with a 6.19 ERA in 107.2 innings of work. This includes 3 home runs and 12 earned runs in 9.1 innings since returning from the IL.

Sheehan is in better form than Marquez, having thrown 7 scoreless innings with 10 Ks against the Reds and 4.2 innings of 2 runs with 6 Ks against the Pirates in his last 2 starts. Consistency is not Sheehan’s greatest strength, but the right-hander does have upside to shut down opposing lineups for stretches. He will benefit from facing this weaker Rockies lineup away from Coors Field, as their road production from the plate is far worse than when at home.
