Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/25/25
Tigers vs Guardians Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a 5-1 victory Wednesday night behind RHP Tanner Bibee, breaking a tie for first place in the American League Central Division. Cleveland now miraculously holds a one-game lead in the division with four games remaining, and it holds a tiebreaker with the Tigers should the teams tie with identical records at season’s end. Cleveland has won 12 of the past 13 games, while going 17-2 in the past 19 games. They turn to LHP Parker Messick to keep up the good work for the Guardians, who are looking to really push the Tigers into the abyss.
The Tigers have picked a terrible time to go ice cold, as they’ve dropped eight in a row since a three-game sweep Sept. 16-18 at the hands of the Guardians in Detroit. That includes a pair of losses for LHP Tarik Skubal, the favorite for AL Cy Young. Detroit is also 1-11 in the past 12 games since Sept. 11. It’s hard to believe, but just two weeks ago, Detroit was up 10 1/2 games up. Detroit has managed just 12 runs in the past seven losses, or 1.7 runs per game (RPG). There is very little reason to change course and back the Tigers now. This team looks shell-shocked and about to be bounced from the playoff chase completely.
