Kansas City Royals vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction, Odds and Picks for Friday, 07/04/25

We have a battle of left-handed starting pitcher in Arizona as Eduardo Rodriguez and the Diamondbacks host Kris Bubic and the Kansas City Royals. Both starters enter this matchup in good form, and I lean towards the under on the posted game total as a result. Rodriguez has allowed 2 or fewer earned runs in each of his last 5 outings and now draws a matchup against a rather powerless Royals lineup. He can lose control at times, but that risk is mitigated against a Royals lineup that chases on pitches located outside the strike zone at an elevated rate.

Bubic didn’t have his best month of the season in June, but you know you are having a good season when a bad month raises your ERA to 2.25. Through 96 innings of work Bubic has been the best starting option for the Royals, and despite allowing more base hits in June I am still a huge fan of his stuff. Arizona is a low strikeout rate lineup that prides themselves on putting the ball in play, but I still expect Bubic to produce a quality outing for his club.
