I favor the over on the posted game total in Saturday’s matchup between the Kansas City Royals and the Athletics. The total sits at 10 which is a high mark, but the hitter-friendly ballpark mixed with recent results from these pitchers leads me towards a high scoring game. Michael Wacha is set to make his 310th career regular season appearance and his 31st start of the season. The veteran right-hander is a known commodity at this point. He is an innings eater that fluctuates from a 2nd to 5th starter depending on his production in that given season. He has a 4.00 ERA in 166.2 innings this season and enters this game in poor form with 13 earned runs allowed across his last 2 starts. Now he has to shift to an extremely hitter-friendly park, and I am not a fan him in this spot.

Luis Morales is a rookie starter for the Athletics set to make his 10th appearance of the season. The right-hander has a 3.07 ERA through his first 44 innings of work, but like most Athletic pitchers, Morales has been far better on the road. His 2.21 ERA in 20.2 road innings jumps to a 3.80 mark in 23.2 frames. A 3.80 ERA is not bad, but 8 home runs allowed already is a bit worrisome given the matchup and location of this game. This should be a fun game to watch!
