We have a very entertaining potential World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners starting this evening, and I am very excited to tune into this 3-game set. Los Angeles enters with a 90-69 record which has clinched the NL West crown. Seattle has also clinched its division, entering play with that same 90-69 record. Both teams have legitimate MVP candidates in their respective leagues with Shohei Ohtani and Cal Raleigh.

Friday’s matchup is set to see Emmet Sheehan start for the Dodgers. Sheehan has tossed 72.1 innings this season, posting a 2.86 ERA in his time on the mound. He closed out August with 7.0 scoreless innings against the Reds and so far in September he has a 1.48 ERA in 24.1 innings of work. George Kirby has not had his best season as a pro for the Mariners in 2025, battling injuries and seeing his ERA over 4.00. He is still a quality starting option this league, but I side with the Dodgers in this matchup.
