While not a game I am rushing to bet on Tuesday’s MLB slate, I do lean towards the over on the posted game total in the matchup between the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals. Adam Mazur is set to start this game for the Marlins as he makes his 3rd start of the season. The right-hander made 8 starts for the Padres in 2024 with a 7.49 ERA in 33.2 innings of work. Mazur has allowed 6 earned runs in his first 9.2 innings of work this season and is not someone I am looking to back currently.

Cade Cavalli made a start back in 2022 but had not returned to the majors until a call-up earlier this summer. Cavalli has made 5 starts spanning 24.2 combined innings while allowing 6 home runs and a 5.11 ERA so far. With only 22 strikeouts to 7 walks, he is allowing a ton of balls in play, and the Marlins offense has shown signs of life in the 2nd half of the season. Look for some runs in this game.
