Brewers vs Mets Pickswise Expert Predictions
After Tuesday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets was postponed due to inclement weather, we have Game 1 of a doubleheader here which stands out as one of the games I am most interested in watching today. Both Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes have had very strong starts to their season, and both starters draw tough matchups against their respective opponents. Peralta enters play with 3 earned runs allowed in 4 of his last 6 starts, but he has allowed more than 3 just once this season. He provides Milwaukee with a solid floor and his upside is among the best in the sport. Getting Peralta at plus money is always an intriguing option given his upside and ability to perform in any matchup.
Holmes has not been as sharp lately as he was to begin the season, allowing 10 walks in his last 2 starts alone. The converted reliever could be beginning to see signs of fatigue as he pushes forward and continues to expand his workload. His 2.97 ERA on the season is a very impressive mark overall, but the right-hander draws a patient Milwaukee lineup that will force him to throw strikes in this spot. I lean towards a Brewers win at the current price.
