Milwaukee Brewers vs New York Mets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 07/03/25

We have a battle of southpaw starting pitchers on Thursday night as David Peterson and the New York Mets take on Jose Quintana and the Milwaukee Brewers. Neither starting pitcher is one that I fully trust, and they both face off against highly competent offenses in this matchup. Quintana has been solid for the Brewers given his expectations and time of signing, but his performance has been less consistent of late, with 4 or more earned runs allowed in 2 of his last 3 starts.

Like Quintana, Peterson can lose command of the strike zone at times, and that is problematic when facing off against Milwaukee. The Brewers are a patient and powerful lineup, and I expect them to perform well in this spot. Once the rain stops, we should see increased humidity as well, which should help the ball carry more. I like the Over in this game.
