Milwaukee Brewers vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 09/07/25

Today marks the first NFL Sunday of the regular season, so a lot of focus within the city of Pittsburgh will be on the Steelers game. That being said, I am going to be setting up an additional monitor for the Pirates vs Brewers matchup given the starting pitching matchup on hand. Given that it is NFL Sunday, and that the main reasoning for this bet is the starting pitchers, I am limiting my total bet to the first 5 innings in this matchup. Jacob Misiorowski was prematurely named to the all-star team after a very limited sample size this season, and his recent results have seen him regress a bit. Still, the young right-hander is clearly one of the more talented young arms in the sport and it is a matter of time before he finds his groove again. I expect him to rack up strikeouts and avoid damage against Pittsburgh today.

Bubba Chandler is the latest Pirate prospect to invigorate a glimmer of hope into the fanbase, and I expect the Pirates to loosen his training wheels a bit in his outing today. Chandler has been kept to 4 innings of work in each of his first 3 outings, all of which were out of the bullpen. His last start resulted in a career-high 18 batters faced across 65 pitches against the Dodgers. Now 5 days later I expect him to face over 20 batters and around 75 or 80 pitches. Milwaukee is a quality lineup, but I am more than impressed with what I have seen from Chandler so far and I expect a slow start to this game from a scoring perspective.
