Brewers vs Cardinals Pickswise Expert Predictions
I lean towards the under on the posted game total for Saturday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Miles Mikolas is making a start and yet I am suggesting an under. That makes me feel crazy, but the veteran right-hander actually hasn’t been bad for his last 4 starts. During that stretch Mikolas has tossed 21 innings with just 6 earned runs allowed including 5 innings of 2-run ball against these Brewers in his last outing. I do not love that he is facing the same playoff caliber lineup twice in that short of a span, but I do think he can provide 5 decent innings again.
Chad Patrick is set to start this game for the Brewers, and he enters play with a 3.64 ERA in his 111.1 innings of work this season. Patrick has made relief appearances each of his last 2 outings but had been pitching decently well in a starting role prior to that. His appearance against the Cardinals in that last series was just for 1 inning in the 8th, and he struck out the side. Now with a longer leash, I expect Patrick to register a solid start for his club.
St. Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers prediction: Under 9 (-120) available at time of publishing. Playable at that price.
