Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals Prediction, Odds, and Pick for Friday, 08/01/25
Brewers vs Nationals Pickswise Expert Predictions
Friday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals is an interesting one between 2 left-handed starting pitchers. Jose Quintana has not been my favorite arm to back this season with his shaky command, but he is clearly my preferred starter in Friday’s game. Quintana has posted a respectable 3.50 ERA through his first 82.1 innings, and he draws a Nationals lineup in this game that he has yet to face this season. Washington also traded Alex Call and some relief help during the trade deadline, which weakens an already suspect roster.
Mitchell Parker is starting for the Nationals in this spot, marking his 22nd start of the season. Through his first 113.2 innings of work, the southpaw has posted a 4.91 ERA while allowing far too many base runners per inning pitched. Parker has been better in his last 2 starts, but he faced this same Milwaukee lineup on July 11 and allowed 7 earned runs in 4.2 innings of work. I don’t trust Parker to locate pitches within the zone against a patient Milwaukee lineup, and I don’t trust his stuff enough to succeed when pitching in the zone.
