Twins vs Marlins Pickswise Expert Predictions
While not my favorite game to attack on Wednesday’s loaded slate, I do lean towards a Minnesota win in the Twins matchup with the Miami Marlins. Simeon Woods-Richardson is a starting pitcher I often look to bet against, but the right-hander is actually the preferred starter for me in this matchup today. He was sharp in his last outing with 6 strikeouts and 5 scoreless innings against the Seattle Mariners. He posted a quality start in his outing before that with 6 innings of 3-run ball against the Brewers, and his outing before that resulted in 5 scoreless frames against Houston. He should pitch decently well in this spot against an inconsistent Marlins unit.
Janson Junk will make his 8th appearance and 3rd start of the season for Miami in this game as he looks to improve upon a poor outing his last time out. Junk has allowed 4 earned runs twice since being stretched out and he is tasked with the tougher matchup in today’s game. The Twins have been far better this season when facing right-handed pitching as their strikeout rate lowers and their power numbers surge.
