The Toronto Blue Jays grabbed a Game 1 win over the Minnesota Twins to begin their 3-game weekend series. We saw 14 runs scored in that opening game, but I do lean towards the under on Saturday’s posted total. Joe Ryan is the scheduled starter for Minnesota Saturday as the right-hander looks to make his 4th start of the season. His first 3 outings resulted in a 4.40 ERA across 14.1 innings, but we have seen a track record that shows he is a better arm talent than that. Ryan’s current xERA sits at 3.05 and his FIP is even better at 2.03. Something encouraging is he has been able to avoid the home run ball so far, and if that trend continues, we could see a very solid 2026 campaign for the right-hander.

Eric Lauer is the scheduled starter for the Blue Jays in Saturday’s matchup. Lauer was a surprise contributor for Toronto in 2025, but his production was much needed and helped the Blue Jays advance to the World Series. In 104.2 innings the southpaw posted a 3.18 ERA while splitting time as a starter and reliever. Lauer struck out 9 Athletics across 5.1 innings of 2-run ball in his season debut. His next start was a short 2-inning outing where his command faltered against the White Sox, but I think he can find success in this spot against an exploitable Twins lineup.
