The southpaw hurler was named to the NL all-star team with his strong start, but his recent performance has left a lot to be desired. In the month of August Peterson made 6 starts spanning a combined 31.0 innings of work. Despite an 8-inning outing against the Nationals where he allowed just 1 earned run, Peterson allowed a 6.68 ERA overall in the month of August. While that is not the best thing to see, I do expect him to regain form as the regular season winds down and he should deliver a decent outing tonight.

With 125 strikeouts in that span Abbott has focused less on earning the strikeout this season, and despite that drop in K% his effectiveness has remained there. Abbott delivered 6.0 innings of 2-run ball against the Mets earlier this season and I expect a similar result this time around, as well.
