Mets vs Rockies Pickswise Expert Predictions
I don’t love suggesting a team to win by 3 or more runs at minus odds, but against the Colorado Rockies it is more than attainable, especially for a quality team like the New York Mets. New York enters play with a 40-24 record after a 3-game sweep of the Rockies last week and a win against them in Game 1 of this series. The Rockies are one of the worst times I have ever personally laid eyes on, and their 12-51 record comes after a hot streak by their standards, somehow sweeping the Marlins in their previous series.
Last Sunday Clay Holmes and Carson Palmquist faced off in this matchup, and they will rematch today in Coors Field. I don’t expect a flawless outing from Holmes who tossed 7 innings of 3-run ball in the first matchup, but he is easily the preferred starter in today’s game. I actually think the best value is on his to record a win prop at -105 odds as the Mets offense should find early success today. Palmquist struggled with command throughout the minor leagues and the same has been true so far, the major league level. In a close proximity rematch in Coors, I am not a fan of his matchup today.
Colorado Rockies vs New York Mets predictions: Mets -2.5 (-125) available at time of publishing. Playable at that price.
