I favor the over on the posted game total in Monday’s matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets. We have a battle of southpaw starting pitchers with David Peterson for the Mets and Justin Wrobleski for the Dodgers. Peterson has had a poor start to his 2026 campaign. His first start was fine with 5.1 scoreless frames against the Pirates. His first 2 starts in April have resulted in just 9 innings with 15 hits, 4 walks, and 11 total runs allowed. Those matchups came against the Giants and Diamondbacks and now he faces the best lineup in baseball. Through 162 PA Los Angeles sits 1st in wRC+ and wOBA against left-handed pitching.

The Mets lineup has also been productive against left-handed pitching, ranking 6th in wOBA with a 116 wRC+. Wrobleski lasted only 4 innings in his season debut against the Guardians, allowing 3 earned runs in that outing. He was stronger in his 2nd start with 5 innings of 1-run ball against the Blue Jays, but I would not be surprised if the Mets got to him today. Wrobleski doesn’t throw overly hard and his strikeout stuff is lacking. He is one of the lesser options in this Dodgers rotation.
