Mets vs Marlins Pickswise Expert Predictions

New York Mets
Money Line Pick
MIA Marlins Win(+110)

On July 27th the New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants by a 5-3 final score, bringing their season record to 62-44. Since then, the team has a 20-34 record. As a result, the team with a massive payroll that often makes offseason headlines finds themselves tied with the Cincinnati Reds for the final wild card spot in the National League. Even knowing the stakes at hand, New York lost yesterday’s game to the Marlins with Sandy Alcantara pitching well for Miami. Today New York will start Clay Holmes who has seen his role reduced in his first year out of the bullpen. We should expect several arms to go for the Mets today with an all-hands on deck approach if they want to make the postseason.

Nearly by default Eury Perez is my preferred starter in today’s matchup between the Mets and Marlins. Eury is one of the premier pitching talents in the game as the 22-year-old is still yet to reach his prime. This is his first season back from serious injury and while his numbers don’t jump off the board I have been impressed with his performance in his last 3 outings. Those 3 starts have combined to allow just 3 earned runs across 14.2 innings of work. I believe the Marlins can upset New York at current pricing.

New York Mets vs Miami Marlins prediction: Marlins ML (+110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that price.
