New York is set to start Clay Holmes as the converted reliever makes his 29th start of the season for New York. Holmes has had a solid season transitioning into a new role with a new club, posting a 3.61 ERA on the season. He has pitched well in his last 4 starts but doesn’t work too deep into games with consistency, and he is the lesser of today’s starters in this matchup.

Cristopher Sanchez is my preferred starter in this game, and he would be the preferred starter in most matchups given his performance in 2025. Sanchez holds a 2.60 ERA in his first 176.1 innings of work this season, totaling 186 strikeouts along the way while remaining a premier groundball artist. His ability to earn outs in several ways helps his overall efficiency, and I expect another strong effort from the southpaw in this start.
