Mets vs Cardinals Pickswise Expert Predictions
The New York Mets hit the road for the Gateway City, and they’re looking to maintain their mastery over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Mets recorded a four-game sweep at Citi Field April 17-20, outscoring the Cardinals 19-9. The Mets have won eight consecutive victories since April 28, 2024, too, with the Under holding a slight 5-3 edge during the win streak, for those interested in Same-Game Parlay (SGP) possibilities. We’re focusing on the moneyline, however, and it’s all about the Mets until the Cardinals are able to flip the script and starting beating New York on a regular basis.
The Mets turn to RHP Clay Holmes, and the 32-year-old looks to stay hot. He is 3-1 with a 2.64 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, all respectable numbers. He is 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA across 26 IP in five starts in April after losing his initial start back on March 27 at Houston. He has managed to keep the keep the ball in the park this season, too, allowing zero homers and just nine earner runs across 30 2/3 IP. It won’t be easy, as Cardinals RHP Sonny Gray has been one of the most effective starters for the team, if not the most effective. He is 3-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. While the Cards are 5-1 in his six starts this season, that lone loss came in a 7-4 setback in Queens on April 20.
