New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 10/04/25
Yankees vs Blue Jays Pickswise Expert Predictions
Game 1 of the ALDS between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays is set to start Saturday afternoon and I believe the Yankees will grab a road win in Game 1. New York had a single day off yesterday after their 3-game Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees prevailed behind elite pitching, and I expect that trend to continue against another divisional rival in this series. Luis Gil is scheduled as New York’s starter for Game 1, and the right-hander should be juiced up for his first postseason appearance of the year. Gil began the season on the shelf but has produced 57 innings with a 3.32 ERA since August. Look for Gil to pitch well in this outing for his 5 innings or so before handing the ball off to the bullpen that got a much-needed day off yesterday.
Toronto is scheduled to start Kevin Gausman as they begin their postseason journey following their Wild Card Series bye. Gausman had a 10-11 record this season despite the Blue Jays wonderful year, but Gausman’s 3.59 ERA is more than respectable. While not the pitcher he once was, Gausman is still a very effective pitcher atop the Blue Jays rotation. That being said, I was not fond of his form to close out the regular season with 2 shaky outings against divisional foes. I expect the Yankees to grab an early lead and hold on for a Game 1 win.
