While not a game I am rushing to bet on Friday, I do favor the Pittsburgh Pirates over the Atlanta Braves given current pricing. Pittsburgh finds themselves as +140 underdogs in this spot despite holding a starting pitching edge. Mitch Keller has not had his best season in 2025, though his 4.22 ERA across 172.2 innings is still respectable. Keller was rumored to be dealt at the trade deadline, but nothing ever came of those rumors, and the right-hander is set to make his final start of the season with the MLB team he has always played for. I will not act like Keller is in stellar form, but he is more than capable of performing well in any given matchup.

Joey Wentz is Atlanta’s starting pitcher for Friday’s matchup, and the southpaw hurler gets a chance to face a team he pitched for this season. Wentz began the season with the Pirates, making 19 relief appearances out of their bullpen with a 4.15 ERA in those 26 innings. He then made 6 appearances spanning 8 unsuccessful innings with the Twins before joining Atlanta. Wentz has made 13 appearances with 12 being starts in Atlanta, combining for 60 innings at a 4.65 ERA. Not many will get rich off backing this Pirates lineup, but they should provide run support against Wentz in this spot.
