I favor the under on the posted game total in Friday’s matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the Baltimore Orioles. San Francisco has been poor offensively to begin their 2026 campaign, especially when facing right-handed pitching. Through their first 314 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, the team ranks dead last in MLB with a 61 wRC+. They will face Shane Baz in this game, and the right-hander is coming off a very nice outing against his former club. Baz tossed 5.2 innings of 1-run ball in Pittsburgh against a Pirates lineup that was in good form. Strikeouts weren’t a major part of his game last time through the rotation, but I believe he can surpass his strikeout prop in this game as well.

Landen Roupp has the challenge of facing the tougher offense, but he is also a pitcher in good form to start the season. Roupp twirled 6 scoreless frames with 7 strikeouts against the Padres in his season debut. He allowed 5 earned runs in his next start against the Mets, but some infield hits and poor defense behind him helped make things worse on paper. Baltimore ranks just 15th so far in wRC+ and I think Roupp should find success with ground ball outs in this spot.
