San Francisco Giants vs San Diego Padres Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 03/30/26

The San Francisco Giants have had an unproductive offense to begin their 2026 campaign, scoring just 1 single run through the team’s first 3 games. San Francisco was blanked by the Yankees pitching staff in each of the first 2 games, and a Matt Chapman RBI single is the only run they scored in Game 3 of the series. Now the Giants will leave their home park as they head to San Diego to play in another pitcher-friendly park.

Walker Buehler is the scheduled starter for the San Diego Padres as he looks to make his team debut. San Diego lost 2 of 3 games to the Detroit Tigers to open their season. There are some questions about the depth of this Padres roster, and the lack of prospect capital stockpiled in their system, but the top end talent of this roster remains elite. The offense should be carried at times by Fernando Tatis Jr, Manny Machado, and Jackson Merrill, while the bullpen may be the best backend unit in the sport. Buehler is coming off of a rough season, but he should benefit from pitching his home games in Petco Park. The bullpen is also well rested following a day off on Sunday.

The Giants bullpen also had the day off yesterday, but their unit was heavily used both Friday and Saturday night. As a result, Erik Miller, Ryan Walker, Ryan Borucki, and Matt Gage would each be making their 3rd appearance in 4 days if they enter tonight’s game. This puts a bit more pressure on Giants’ starter Landen Roupp to perform well in his 5 innings or so. His spring training performance was reflective of last year’s regular season. Projection sources have him with an ERA around 4 this season, outperforming Buehler’s projections, but I still lean towards a Padre win given current pricing.
