St. Louis Cardinals vs Miami Marlins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/19/25

I favor the Miami Marlins in their matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, August 19. Edward Cabrera enters this matchup off a poor start against the Guardians in which he allowed 10 base runners and 5 earned runs, but he had been enjoying a dominant run prior to that start. Cabrera remains my preferred starting option in this game as I expect a solid bounce back effort from the right hander. I expect to see him fill up the zone with more strikes early in counts and trust his stuff with more regularity.

The Cardinals are starting Michael McGreevy in this matchup. The rookie right-hander has shown flashes of upside but has also struggled several times already in a Cardinals uniform. This is to be expected from a young starter, but I am not overly fond of his matchup against the Marlins on Tuesday. Miami has done a tremendous job developing their young bats this season and their lineup has been more than respectable against right-handed pitching for some time now.
