Blue Jays vs Reds Pickswise Expert Predictions
We have an interesting pitching matchup on Tuesday as the Cincinnati Reds take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Jose Berrios is set to start for the Blue Jays, marking his 28th start of the season. In his first 152.2 innings of work the veteran right-hander has produced a 3.95 ERA. This improves to a 3.43 ERA when on the road as he is today. Berrios is capable of a rough outing from time to time but overall, he tends to be a reliable option in this rotation.
Nick Lodolo is set to start this game for the Reds, making this his 25th start of the season. The southpaw had a very strong start to his season and has carried that through with a 3.22 ERA in 134.1 innings of work. While not earning as many strikeouts as he did in his early MLB seasons, Lodolo is still pitching effectively and earning outs at an efficient rate. While not the easiest lineup to take down, I do expect him to succeed in this spot, and I lean towards the under on the posted game total.
