Washington Nationals vs Miami Marlins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/11/25

I favor the Miami Marlins over the Washington Nationals in their matchup this Thursday. Ryan Weathers impressed me during his 16 starts in 2024, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and nearly a strikeout per inning pitched. He flashed upside in the Marlins rotation once again at the beginning of this season before a lengthy injured list stint. Weathers has been activated off that IL for his outing against the Nationals Thursday, and I expect him to perform well out of the gate. He draws a Nationals lineup that has been weaker when away from their home park, and he should deliver 5 solid innings or so.

MacKenzie Gore had a terrific start to 2025 but frustrating stretched mixed in with his outstanding starts has resulted in a middling end-of-season stat sheet. Gore has accrued 147.1 innings in his first 27 starts, totaling 173 strikeouts with a 4.15 ERA along the way. He is more than capable of climbing a strikeout prop ladder in nearly any start, but he also has a tendency to struggle against middling lineups. While Gore’s volatility could make a case as an underdog, I side with the Marlins in this spot.
