The first night of NBA Cup competition in 2026-27 features a showdown between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philly. It is a rematch of the season opener, won by the 76ers 106-100 to spoil the Knicks’ ring ceremony inside Madison Square Garden.

With the showdown set for 7:30 pm ET on Amazon Prime, it’s time to break down my SGP. Also don’t forget to check out our full Knicks vs 76ers prediction.

Knicks vs 76ers Same Game Parlay picks

76ers ML (+105)

VJ Edgecombe Over 1.5 three-pointers (-117)

OG Anunoby Over 16.5 points (-105)

Parlay odds: +625

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Philadelphia guard VJ Edgecombe draining a couple of threes would obviously work well with a 76ers victory. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with also backing New York forward OG Anunoby to score his fair share of points. But even if he does, there is no reason why the home team can’t get the job done. Let’s break down each of the three legs.

76ers ML (+105)

In the first matchup between these two Eastern Conference rivals, the Sixers went into MSG and forced 14 turnovers, blocked 10 shots and ultimately prevailed without too much trouble despite shooting just 11-for-40 from downtown. Now they are playing at home in what will be a better-than-average atmosphere for the NBA Cup against the defending champs. Despite all of that, Philadelphia is an underdog. This new-look team, armed with Jaylen Brown (questionable for tonight’s game) and LeBron James, is off to a 4-1 start with its lone loss has coming on the second leg of a back-to-back situation against the Pistons last weekend. Head coach Nick Nurse’s crew also boasts a win over Cleveland and is coming off a win at the Pacers on Wednesday. Brown, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid are all averaging more than 20 ppg. LeBron is doing a little bit of everything in a supporting role, contributing 15.5 ppg, 6.8 apg and 6.5 rpg. The 41-year-old delivered his second double-double of the season against Indiana. Meanwhile, the Knicks (2-3) are understandably in somewhat of a hangover mode following their 2025-26 title. Jalen Brunson is shooting only 40.2 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three-point range. Karl-Anthony Towns should be good to go, but he had a brief scare with a potential left-wrist injury on Wednesday against the Bulls.

VJ Edgecombe Over 1.5 three-pointers (-117)

Edgecombe has attempted 16 three-pointers over Philadelphia’s past two contests, a stretch that includes a 5-for-10 effort from deep this past Saturday against Milwaukee. The second-year guard out of Baylor didn’t do much in the previous meeting between these two teams, but that means the Knicks might fall asleep on him while instead focusing on Maxey, Embiid, LeBron and – if he plays – Brown. New York is allowing the sixth-most threes per game and is #20 in three-point percentage defense. Edgecombe’s volume would obviously increase, too, if Brown is either sidelined or limited in any capacity. Regardless, asking for two triples should not be too much.

OG Anunoby Over 16.5 points (-105)

One of the heroes of New York’s 2025-26 championship run, Anunoby is averaging 17.6 ppg so far this season and has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four outings. Although the Indiana product was held to just 10 points by the Sixers, it should be noted that he shot 1-for-9 from three-point range in that contest. It’s hard to envision that kind of futility again on Friday. If Anunoby forks up nine attemps from deep in this game, he will almost certainly reach the 17-point mark.
