The first slate of NBA Cup games begins on Friday, with 10 group-stage games. Five Eastern Conference games tip off between 7:00 PM ET and 8:00 PM ET, while five Western Conference games tip off between 8:00 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET. All 20 teams are coming in off at least one day of rest, so expect heavy minutes for starters. Expect some close games too; just one game has a spread of more than 10 points. Best NBA Player Prop Bet: Fred VanVleet (HOU) Over 5.5 Assists in Rockets vs Mavericks (-135)

Fred VanVleet, in the four games he's played this season, has been a breath of fresh air for a Rockets team that needed help at point guard. He's taken a load off of Kevin Durant, whose usage rate is down to 23.3% this season. There have been little to no limitations for VanVleet, who is off a torn ACL last offseason. Though he won't play back-to-backs, he's up to 30-32 minutes when he's active, which is enough time to log at least six assists in this one. For what it's worth, FVV put up 11 assists and no turnovers against the Mavericks on opening night.
Reed Sheppard, one of Houston's depth pieces in the backcourt, has already been ruled out, along with the status of Marcus Smart and Alperen Sengun in question. If just one of those players is on the shelf tonight, we could see a much bigger role in facilitating for VanVleet.

NBA Player Prop Bet: Immanuel Quickley (TOR) Over 9.5 Rebounds+Assists in Magic vs Raptors (-110)

No Kawhi Leonard for the next three to four weeks calls for the trio of Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley to carry the load for the Raptors. We're focusing on Quickley as one of our top player prop bets for Friday, October 30. Over the last two games that Leonard has missed, Quickley ranks just behind Barrett in usage rate at 25.2%. Over that same span, he's averaging a team-high 10 potential assists. With his assists line of 5.5 juiced to the over, we're going to add on rebounds, as he surpassed this line in Wednesday's game against the Magic in just 28 minutes.
