NBA Best Bet: Moritz Wagner 2+ Made Threes (+220)
Looks like a change of scenery is exactly what Mo Wagner needed. His numbers and efficiency are up across the board compared to his previous season with the Orlando Magic playing alongside his brother Franz. After 5 games played he’s shooting an unreal 58.3% from three, which is obviously a career high for him. In those 5 games coming off the bench he’s converting on an average of 1.4 threes per game, for comparison last year that number was at just 0.6 per game on 31.4% efficiency.
This Indiana team has been hit hard by the injury bug with several big-name players being out of the line-up. Opponents are converting on 36.3% of threes against this team, in Indy’s home games that number increases to 38.6%. Brooklyn does like to push the pace, so expect a lot of shots from distance to go up here. Wagner is primed to have a breakout performance here, Indiana allows the 2nd most threes against opposing Power Forwards this year.

NBA Best Bet: Brandin Podziemski 3+ Made Threes (-106)
With the news of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Gui Santos all missing Sunday’s game against the Clippers, most of the burden offensively will fall on the shoulders of Brandin Podziemski. Pods has enjoyed a solid start to the season, his big time contract extension over the summer showed just how much faith the Warriors have in him, now would be a good time for him to repay them back with a big-time performance.
He’s made multiple threes in 7 of the last 10 meetings against LA, while shooting a respectable 41% against them from deep during that stretch. The Clippers woes on defense around the perimeter are well noted, they currently rank 20th in opponent three-point percentage (36.3%). On the road that number goes up to 40.8%, only the Sacramento Kings are allowing teams to shoot a higher percentage in those games this season. I’m counting on Podziemski to come up big for his team here.
NBA Best Bet: LA Lakers -4.5 over Toronto Raptors (-110)
With 2 defeats in 3 games, the Lakers will look to close out the week on a high note as they entertain the Toronto Raptors at home. They’ve had the Raptors’ number for quite some time now, winning the last 7 meetings and sweeping the last 3 regular season series. Luka and co. let a lot to be desired after their latest loss to the Warriors, it was a game in which LA led by as many as 25 points at one stage, but completely collapsed in the 4th quarter offensively.
Playing at home should fix some of their issues, especially against a Raptors team playing without their best player Kawhi Leonard. The perimeter is where this team struggles the most right now. Over their past 3 games they’re allowing opponents to shoot 43% from three, while on offense they’re converting on just 32.1% of their three-point shots. I just can’t see them getting a result in LA on Sunday with those type of numbers.
