Hawks vs Nets Pickswise Expert Predictions

Atlanta Hawks
Game Totals Pick
Over 238.0(-110)

Two Eastern Conference teams that off to disappointing starts will go head-to-head when the Atlanta Hawks visit the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. Atlanta is 0-3; Brooklyn is 0-4. Unsurprisingly, I don’t feel good about either side. The Nets are terrible, but it’s tough to justify giving 7.5 points with the Hawks given how poorly they are playing to begin the 2025-26 campaign. Instead, I will look to the game total — and my Hawks vs Nets prediction is Over 238.

Neither side plays any defense. The Nets are dead last in the NBA in scoring defense, giving up 130.5 points per game. The Hawks had the fourth-worst scoring defense last season and so far in 2025-26 are allowing even more points per contest (122.5). Fortunately for Atlanta, it boasts a ton of offensive firepower. Five guys are averaging at least 15.8 ppg, including newcomer Kristaps Porzingis at 23.5. Onyeka Okongwu (16.0 ppg) has been outstanding and Jalen Johnson (19.7 ppg) is healthy after missing much of last season. Trae Young has not been able to throw it in the ocean through 4 outings, but once he gets going the offense will be quite scary. The bottom line is that defense will probably be nonexistent on Wednesday night in Brooklyn.

Hawks vs Nets prediction: Over 238 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to 239.
