Back-to-back games of over 130 points plus wins over Indiana and Atlanta has to feel good for the Nuggets who have been without two very important players in Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun. The road trip continues in Charlotte on Sunday, against a Hornets team that’s showing signs of life with 3 wins in 5 games and arguably their best win of the season against Toronto. Still, this is the Nuggets’ game to lose. They’ve won 6 consecutive games in Charlotte, while on the road overall they’re 9-0 SU in 9 games played.

Charlotte’s biggest concern here is Jokic. They have a rookie starting at the center position and although Ryan Kalkbrenner has shown he can play in his first 20 games, he is no match for the 3-time MVP. Only a complete team effort will slow him down, the Hornets have excelled on the defensive side of the ball over their last 5 games holding opponents to the 4th lowest field goal percentage, as well as the 4th lowest three-point percentage. They’re also 4th best in blocks during this stretch, but again it is one thing to do it against the Raptors and another to do it against Denver.

Backing the road team is the obvious pick here, however I’ve been burned already a few times this season backing teams to win by double-digits on the road. As good as Denver has been, I believe the Hornets won’t go down without a fight. They’ve been solid in home games this season covering 6 times in 11 games, this team can put up a lot of points in a very short amount of time when they have it going. I’ll go with the home team here.
